Mummies, dinosaurs an volcanoes !

Mummies, dinosaurs and volcanoes!

The Year 7 class went to the Auckland Museum – It was a windy, blustery day but the sun shone through for us to have some time in the Domain as well.
We looked at the Ancient Egypt artefacts and the Mummy to support our current History unit with Teacher Kelly. We even saw mummified animals and make up used by the Ancient Egyptians! Teacher Shân guided us through the Origins of the Earth and the Volcano room to support our learning in Geography. We loved marveling at God’s creation from the dinosaurs through to the layers of the earth! Thanks to parents (and Grandparents!) who came with us – We had an awesome day out!

Athletics Day – Champions revealed!

In our final assembly of 2017, we announced the Athletics Day winning team who, across the whole day, gained the most points for placing in events. Congratulations Yellow team for taking it out! Next up, we revealed the boy and girl champions of each year level – Congratulations to you all! A big thank you to our Sports Coordinator, Rachel Ironside, for all her planning, organising, hard work and passion for sport in the school!

Auckland Engineering Week

As part of Auckland Engineering Week, Josh Lehman visited KGA Geotechnical Group where he saw the practical applications of engineering and physics …. And had fun getting his hands dirty with the soil boring equipment!

Cross Country!

The rain held off for our Year 0 – 10 Cross Country competition today. Our very own Sports co-ordinator extraordinaire, Rachel Ironside, went above and beyond to make this our best Cross Country event yet! Parents, family and also Ps Peter and Bev came down to cheer the kids on. We even had Ross onsite with the ‘Coffee Cruiser’ to keep our caffeine levels up ☺ All the students did so well, finishing their races strong and encouraging each other to do the same. Our Year 11 students helped with marshalling and directing runners at different points of the course – a big thank you! Stay tuned for a list of our place getters!

Thanks everybody for a fantastic day!
