Darrell Parratt

Bachelor of Education, Canterbury University
Diploma of Teaching, Christchurch College of Education

Darrell has been principal of City Impact Church School since 2007 and brings more than 20 years teaching and leadership experience to his role. Born and bred in the South Island, Darrell came to Auckland in 1991 to teach at Sunnybrae Normal School. From there, he taught at Kristin School, and then ACG Parnell College, where he was Deputy Principal. Darrell’s wife Donna is a founding teacher at City Impact Church School and both their sons are pupils.

Bachelor of Education, Auckland University
Diploma of Primary Teaching, Auckland College of Education

Donna taught at Kristin School and ACG Parnell College for several years and has been at City Impact Church School from the day it opened in 2005.  She is gifted at finding creative and dynamic ways to weave Biblical truth through the school’s curriculum. She is also a talented and passionate teacher of art across many year levels. She takes Romans 12:2 as her motto, always endeavouring to look to God, and not society, for her inspiration and ideas.

 


 

City Impact Church Caroline Fann

Higher Diploma in Education, Physical Science – University of Natal, SA

Caroline started teaching secondary Mathematics and Science in South Africa in 1989.  She has an amazing ability to make a way for students not only to grasp these subjects, but to also develop a love for them. She is passionate about working with students across the Senior School to help them develop and reach their potential.

BA honours in Sociology and Theology/Religious Studies, Roehampton Institute London      

Matt started his teaching career in the U.K in 1996.  Upon moving to N.Z in 2001, he worked in a variety of educational fields, including teaching at Immanuel Christian School in Auckland before joining City Impact Church School in 2011. Matt is recognised not only for his extensive knowledge in his specialist subject areas but also for his unique ability to teach them from a Biblical worldview.

Higher Diploma in Education, Cape Town Teacher’s College 
Bachelor of Arts, University of South Africa

Bev has over 25 years primary teaching experience including seven years in New Zealand. She joined City Impact Church School in 2009.  She is passionate about teaching the older primary school students and loves the enthusiasm with which children of this age approach life and any related challenges.  She considers it a privilege to be a part of raising up the next generation.

Marian comes to City Impact Church School with over 25 years experience overseas. One of Marian’s greatest strengths is her ability to work with children of all different learning styles and unlock the capabilities of each individual. She has a passion to see each child reach their academic potential and flourish in their relationship with God.

 


 

City Impact ChurchNatalie Jervis – Teacher

Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) New Zealand Tertiary College, Auckland

Natalie has been teaching children for a number of years, including managing one of City Impact’s Early Childhood Centres. She has an exceptional ability to work with new entrants and Year 1 children, teaching them to love learning while establishing the vital foundations of numeracy and literacy upon which the school bases its curriculum.

Kelly taught for two years in a large public school before joining City Impact Church School in 2011. She is a gifted creative writer and loves sharing this passion with her class. She also has an incredible ability to take the school’s Character Traits curriculum and make it accessible to the younger children. She has a passion for truth and loves teaching the truth of God’s Word in a classroom setting.

Jade’s passion for teaching was ignited during the seven years experience she had serving in Kids’ Church at City Impact Church on Sundays. She loves teaching at a school that is so intimately connected with the church she has been a part of for so long. She is great at building relationships with students and bringing out the best in them.

Tony corbett – Teacher

Diploma of Teaching, Masters Institute, N.Z  
Certificate in Christian Education, Masters Institute, N.Z

Tony joined City Impact Church School in 2012. He brings with him many years of experience working with children in Kids’ Church, After School Care and Bible in Schools. His broad life experience also includes time in sales, management, and business.  Children are drawn to Tony’s enthusiasm for life and his ability to impart courage and confidence. He desires to see young people living with purpose, hope and vision.

Bachelor of Education (Hons), University of Wales, Cardiff

Part of City Impact Church School since 2006, Shan teaches Geography, a subject for which she has a passion, bringing personal experience from her extensive world travel. As well as having many years of primary teaching experience, Shan is also particularly gifted at working with children with specific learning challenges and loves getting alongside them one on one.

 


 

 

Sophy

SOPHIA EVANS – TEACHER

Bachelor of Science (Biology Major) – Massey University Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Secondary) – Auckland University of Technology

Sophia has taught for 3 years at Westlake Girls High School before joining City Impact Church School this year. She had a passion to teach from an early age and started as soon as she could, serving in Children’s Ministry at the age of 12 for 9 years. Sophia’s expertise is in Science, Mathematics and Physical Education.

 

 


 

Marcus

Marcus Slagel – teacher

Bachelor of Arts (English Major, Media Studies Minor), Graduate Diploma in Teaching

Marcus teaches English and Drama, utilising 10 years of experience as a script-writer, 8 years of hands-on experience in film, and over 30 years’ worth of performances.  He has been actively involved in Children’s Ministry and general church life at City Impact Church for the past decade.  Marcus is passionate about seeing children and youth raised up knowing their God, and learning to excel in the areas of His purpose for their lives.

Joanne Slagel (Music – Years 0-10)

Talented teacher and musician with a variety of performance and recording experience.


Fred Brunell (Art – Years 9-13)

Bachelor of Theology
